Hudson's First Haircut.....

I need to start this post off with a little back story. Hudson has a little more hair that what Emma had at this age and I was in no big hurry to cut his little curls. Well, last Sunday, we were eating lunch at a local restaurant and not one, not two, but THREE different people called him a girl..First of all, he was in boy clothing.. Second of all, I know his hair was a little longer in the back it was no where long enough for him to be considered a little girl. So I decided that it was time.. I was dreading this day so bad, because it seems like when you cut their hair for the first time they grow like 4 inches over night and look like a little man instead of your sweet baby boy. When it came to the big decision, I knew who would be the one to make the first cut, one of my mom's best friends, Sheri. She cut my hair, Emma's hair, and now Hudson's hair for the first time. She was just the natural choice. We took Emma to school ( she was so mad because she wanted to be there) and we headed to the shop. Hudson was such a big boy (tear)!! He sat there and let her cut and was mesmerized by the clippers that she used. She did a great job and he looks like a little man now.

After the haircut, we set out towards to big ole' Pecanland Mall, to see one of our favorite Gymboree ladies, Denise. She had sent me a text earlier in the week and threatened bodily harm if I did not bring her babies to see her. Needless to say, Hudson wound up being a little model for all the new Easter clothes they had just received. I have to say he was the cutest little model I had ever seen.

Overall, we had a great day! I wish my girl could have been with us! Here are a few pictures from Hudson's big day!

Catching Up...

So where do I begin?! Hum.. let me think. This year has been a little crazy! I started Block this fall, which means that is all goes as planned I will graduate in three semesters. Mark graduated with his MBA and has now said that he is thinking about going back for his PhD. I will take the available room in the insane asylum now! Emma's A Graduate!

When our kids are born we, as parents, have so many hopes and dreams for our kids. I know when Emma was born so many things ran through my mind and I wanted to keep that sweet precious baby wrapped up in my arms and never let anything in this world hurt her. I know that this is something that is completely unreasonable but hey it never hurts to want to try. When Emma started Kindergarten this year I knew that is was time to let her begin to spread her wings and let her "leave the nest" a little. This was a hard thing for me to do as a mother, mainly because we never thought we would have another chance to go through this process. But I know that Mark and I have tried to and are still instilling good Christian morals and values in her that she will use in making decisions in her life. Thank you God for giving us such a beautiful young soul to love and guide. We are so lucky to be her parents! Without further ado here is our Graduate! She was wonderful! We are so proud of you Emma Goose!!

Children's Museum and Santa Claus

On Friday Emma and I along with her friend Julia and her parents, Jennifer and Gus, went to the Children's Museum to see Santa and Mrs. Claus , to decorate some cookies, and play in some "snow." The girls had a blast, so much so they did not want to leave. There were tons of people there, but we all still had a blast. So here are a few pictures of our adventure to the North Pole.

Our Visits From The Tooth Fairy.

For over a month and a half Emma has had 2 loose teeth on the bottom. Mark and I both have been watching these teeth closely, because as much as I love my child I don't want to have to "dig" for her tooth. So on Wednesday morning, while brushing her teeth, I noticed that one of the teeth was sitting behind the other. It was time!! Emma FREAKED OUT! She started crying because she thought it was going to hurt. I went through the whole spill about it not hurting and if it was going to hurt her then I would not do it in the first place. Then we had to call daddy, who was in a board meeting, to see if he would do it because she was not letting me near her mouth! When we could not get Mark, I called my grandparents. My pawpaw would not touch it because he did not want Emma mad at him. So after about an hour of convincing her it was not going to hurt, she opened her mouth and BAM we had a tooth. The first night the tooth fairy left her $31. WOW! For one tooth!

Last night (thursday), we went to have dinner with my dad and grandparents. After we were done eating I noticed that the other tooth was sitting a little higher than it had been the previous morning. Sure enough it was barely hanging on. As soon as we got home from dinner we pulled it! The tooth fairy left $8 this time... For a GRAND TOTAL of $39!! I want to loose some teeth! My tooth fairy only left $1. So for the time being Emma is truly a snaggle toothed little girl!
